To customize your avatar, start by pressing the gear icon in the upper left corner.  Tap on your picture beneath, "Server: 1," and then select your new picture and/or background.  You can purchase new pictures and backgrounds in the Cosmetics Shop, too!  Press the, "Shop" button on the left side of the screen, then go to, "Cosmetics."  Check back often to see what's available!
