DH State of the Game Post January 2025
Overview
2024 is past us and we’re now looking forward to 2025! And what a year we hope it will be, with big updates to the game and major overhauls to ensure an exciting game experience for veterans and newcomers!
What we’ve released so far this past year
A massive overhaul was done to the Merchants system! With changes to the Market, Black Market and Mega Mart - more slots and adjustments to offers to tailor them to player needs!
We have optimized Badge Recipes, starting with E+6 upwards all Badge Recipes are optimized, and more recently we tackled Ranks E+0 to E+5, to bring reduced lag to the game.
As mentioned as part of our plans in previous State of the Game posts, we’ve released a Referral System in game! Bring friends into DHBM and both of you can earn rewards!
We launched our brand new Discord server which has been a tremendous success! In less than one year, our community has already surpassed the 10,000 members milestone - what an achievement! We plan to keep things exciting on our Discord server, so make sure to be active and stay in the loop!
With the new Discord server, the time came to close our forums, where lots of memories and friendships were made. All communications and activities for DHBM have been moved to Discord!
We managed to increase our new Hero release cadence from 1 Hero every 2 months, to 3 Heroes per month! That is a crazy increment of work from our side and we appreciate the feedback and support on our efforts.
We introduced 8 new franchises and 19 brand new Heroes this year!
Finally, 2024 brought DHBM its 6th Anniversary - what a milestone! As you all know, in mobile gaming, 6 years is quite a long time, and we’re excited to keep the game going for so long, and looking forward to many more years to come!
Bug Fixes and Improvements
Bugs! We’ve closed out 46+ bug tickets this year alone. We have so many Heroes in the game right now (over 220!) and our QA efforts have been stronger than ever! With this amount of Heroes in DHBM, plus 3 new Heroes being released every month, we have a lot of stuff to fix and to get our eyes on. We wanted to tackle so many more issues, but time is limited.
Our new Discord was super helpful to get players to report bugs that our team couldn’t find or replicate, so thank you for the continued support there!
Besides fixing bugs, we also aim to get a lot of QoL features out there to improve everyone’s experience. A few notable improvements in 2024:
Campaign Quick Fighting
Progress through campaign nodes and reach higher rarities faster!
Continuous Hero Balancing
To ensure a more level playing experience for all, and to make more Heroes more exciting, we are keeping up with our efforts of balancing Heroes.
Battle Pass Updates
More tiers, increased Early Access time period, more quests, and more!
Favorite System
Highly requested, the Favorite System allows players to pick their favorite Heroes to be able to filter through those.
Raid All Chapters
Raid all 3 starred Nodes to get Badges more easily!
Combat Buff Icons
Long gone are the days where the battle screens were messy and filled with dozens (sometimes hundreds) of combat buff icons, as they are now aggregated into one icon and a number next to it!
Buy Multiple Wish Crates and Guild Crates
Easier and smoother process of opening multiple Wish/Guild Crates at once!
Things to come in 2025
For 2025, we aim to focus on more QoL and a massive game overhaul. The goal is to keep Hero releases the same, but really renovate DHBM to ensure it feels like a modern game, making it more fun and exciting than ever. While this is a good summary of our initiatives in 2025, it is not an exhaustive list. We strive to continually improve the gameplay experience to the best of our ability, and we’ll share updates to any changes or additional goals that arise.
Server Merge
In early 2025 we are aiming to get Servers 21 and 25 merged into Server 1!
We are aiming to do this by the end of January 2025, but we will make a proper announcement soon. We’ll let you know if anything arises that causes us to have to push this back, but for now, we are on track for the end of January 2025!
This will bring an improved playing experience to players. Why?
More Competition: More players in the Server will mean there will be more competition in PvP modes! More higher level players, but also more mid and low level players, ensuring more excitement overall for all tiers of players.
More Action: Chats will be more active, more Guilds in the same server and more Guild activity!
Invasion Improvements
We want to make key changes to Invasion to make it a more appealing game mode for Guilds.
This is part of a push to make Guild based game modes work cohesively together to create a social and collaborative environment.
Guild Perks Improvements
We heard you, and we will soon stop increasing Car Bonuses!
On Discord, we asked you to suggest new Guild Perks or changes to the current ones, and we aim to implement some of these throughout the year.
Guild Wars Improvements
To encourage more team participation and a more collaborative atmosphere, we are revamping Guild Wars, with more meaningful rewards, a more strategic and fun GvG experience for all Guilds of any tier and more diversity in Guild contests.
Arena PvP Improvements
The goal is to make Arena PvP have more emphasis on strategic gameplay that slowly evolves over time.
We will keep balancing Heroes to ensure a more fun playing experience and to help manage the meta.
Heist Updates
We are planning to remove Heist as an ever present game mode.
Our goal is to streamline the gameplay experience one step at a time, focusing on game modes that are optimized, bring interesting rewards and overall engagement to DHBM.
We will also be removing Heist Coins & Shop.
The long term goal is to bring Heist back later in the year, as a recurring event, with more exciting rewards.
New Heroes Distribution and Schedule
We are thinking of some potential changes to the manner in which we release new Heroes, in terms of distribution methods (Battle Pass/Prize Wall) and schedules.
We saw your feedback about how the hero releases felt too quick, and we hear you! We’ll be working on improving our hero release cadence to make sure that you can enjoy the new heroes.
Mass Hero Level Up
When we release new Ranks and increased Skill Levels, we know there is a lot of time needed to click click click!
We want to release a highly requested feature, where players can Level Up multiple Heroes with just one tap.
To ensure servers are able to handle this, we will initially start with a low limit of Heroes that players can level up at one time, but slowly increase this limit as we further optimize servers!
More Badge Recipe Optimizations
We plan to keep our efforts going when it comes to optimizing badge recipes, so that Power Promotes are less lag inducing.
Emerald Ranks are fully optimized, and we will next tackle Yellow and all other ranks below!
Maintained Hero Release Cadence
In 2024, we increased our Hero release cadence, and we aim to keep this cadence going for 2025, with 3 new Heroes per month!
New Resource Gachas
We’re aiming to introduce new Gachas to pull resources in 2025, likely beginning with Mods, Mod Upgrades and Mod Fragments, and later a Gacha for Memory Disks.
This way, you no longer have to wait weeks to earn specific color team resources!
Performance Improvements
Lag has been a hot topic this past year and we are looking to get lag reduced, not just by optimizing Badge Recipes, but also with other initiatives in 2025.
